SUPPORT for this year's Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival is holding up well in the shadow of the credit crunch, organisers have revealed.

Traders, exhibitors and caterers have shown keen interest in booking sites on the seafront and up to this week about a quarter of all available space has been taken for both days of the 13th Air Festival, on Thursday and Friday, July 23 and 24.

Organisers have also been cheered by the response to a special event being held next month to boost the air display budget.

Entertainer Kenny Cantor is organising a dinner dance and cabaret at the Victoria Hotel, Lowestoft, on Saturday, March 14.

Tickets are £27.50 and can be obtained by calling Paul Bayfield on 01502 587027 or emailing paul@lowestoft airfestival.co.uk

Another way of showing support for the festival is by joining the exclusive Friends organisation, which features special rewards such as certificates, badges and a souvenir programme, as well as free entry in a monthly competition.

Membership costs £12 for individuals and £25 for families of up to two adults and two children.

For details of how to join the Friends, write to: FOTLAF, 41 Tennyson Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk, NR32 1PS
