SPECTATORS at this year's Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival will be guaranteed a good view of the spectacular displays - after organisers revealed plans to install a giant screen showing all the aerial action.

Big screens are a familiar sight at many of the country's big events from music festivals to football matches.

Organisers of the air festival have decided to add the 40sq metre LED screen to the many ground attractions on offer on Thursday, August 12 and Friday, August 13. The screen, mounted on an articulated lorry, is being supplied by ARB Audio and Visual Hire whose clients include major events and venues such as Silverstone, the RFU Twickenham and the Lawn Tennis Association.

As well as the screen, the company will also provide a technician, roving cameraman, vision director and mixing suite.

The screen is also likely to show local and national advertising - and may offer a text messaging facility for the public to use.

In addition it may also be possible to show live 'feeds' from some of those taking part in the displays and interviews with some of the airshow principals including pilots. The interviews can be linked to the public address system.

The LED screen will be situated on Royal Green where it can be seen by 75-80 pc of the spectators.

Other ground attractions at the event include 'Walking on Water' featuring giant inflatable balls, a Speed Kicking challenge by Norwich City Football Club and the usual attractions such as military displays, a Red Arrows flight simulator and a funfair.

Another innovation for this year's show involves the festival's own website where it will now be possible for companies to advertise

Advertising on the LED screen is available for companies to have their logo and wording or use their own commercial.

Packages are from only 295 to 1500 for both days.
