A popular stalwart is moving on to pastures new after dedicating more than two decades of service to a primary school.

Hillary Wright, 60, started out as a classroom assistant at Grove Primary School in Carlton Colville 22 years ago, before later becoming the school’s office manager.

On Friday, December 1, she was honoured with a special leaving assembly at the school so that pupils and fellow staff members could give thanks for her numerous contributions over the years.

“Hillary has been the heart and soul of this school and it won’t be the same without her. She was even working at the school when some of the parents attended Grove,” said Grove Primary headteacher Amanda Ward.

“She loved working here and it’s been a difficult decision for her to leave.

“Hillary was always there for people, always willing to chat, always a good listener and definitely one for big hugs!”
