Stretch limousines, classic sports cars and even a horse and carriage...

Most teenagers are content with travelling to and from school by any means available – but when it comes to the glitz and glamour of an annual prom, its important to arrive in style and make an impression.

And a range of different modes of transport were on display as year 11 students at Benjamin Britten High School in Lowestoft celebrated the end of an era last month.

Bringing the curtain down on their final year at the school in Blyford Road, the 15 and 16-year-olds enjoyed an evening to remember at the stunning Zest Rooms at Potters Leisure Resort in Hopton last Thursday.

The students arrived at the venue in a variety of transport – including Ferraris, Mustangs, motorbikes, Limousines, an HGV and a horse and carriage – to add to the glitz and glamour.

With a stunning array of ballgowns, posh dresses, smart suits and tuxedos worn, more than 160 students and staff celebrated the end of their time in school by attending the summer prom dressed in their finest attire.

All enjoyed the live entertainment at the event, with acoustic sets from Josh Cooper, Camrin Chappel and Jasmin Banks as they danced through to midnight with a disco provided by DJ Lee Chapman.

A number of award-winners were voted for, with presentations made on the night – as Owen Alsous-Ball was crowned the prom king and Danloba Jaquite the queen. Students also voted for their favourite teacher and those most likely to become an Olympian or become famous.

A school spokesman said that all the awards were nominated and voted for by the year 11 students.

The spokesman added: 'A big thank you goes to the Year 11 prom committee. All students were exceptionally behaved on the night and were a credit to their school.

'It was a wonderful event for the students to celebrate their achievements – and the staff of Benjamin Britten High School wish all our students every success for the future.'
