A guide dog had to be freed by firefighters after it got stuck between two garages in Lowestoft.

The dog got trapped between the garages in Hillcrest Drive at about 10.15am yesterday (Monday) and could not back itself out.

One fire engine from Lowestoft was called out to free the dog and it took the crew about five minutes to free the animal using small tools.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service control room said the dog was not injured and its owner's cleaner had alerted the fire brigade when it got trapped.

The dog was not leading its owner at the time it got stuck between the garages.
