Families enjoyed a variety of entertainment as a free Halloween themed event took centre stage at a care home.

Lowestoft-based magician Joshua Pickering enthralled residents and visitors with his tricks at Lilac Lodge and Lavender Cottage care home, in Gorleston Road, Oulton Broad on Sunday, October 28.

Children enjoyed a pumpkin hunt, apple bobbing, a spooky lucky dip, balloon modelling and there were prizes given out in a competition for the best dressed little monster.

Lilac’s activities co-ordinator Claire Garrod said: “The children who came along had a great time and our residents thoroughly enjoyed it.”

Visitors were also given the opportunity to look around the home and discuss any care needs with staff.

Donations were taken for the residents’ fund which supports extra activities and outings.

Manager Zena Stotter said: “We are always pleased to get a good turnout for our events.

“It’s important for our residents to remain connected to the community.”
