A Lowestoft-area primary school has closed for the day due to a heating failure.

Gunton Primary Academy informed parents this morning (Friday) that the school in Gainsborough Drive would not be opening “due to hot water/heating failure.”

Problems with the boiler at Gunton Primary Academy could not be fixed in time for the start of the school day.

In a statement on the Suffolk County Council school closures page, it said: “Gunton Primary Academy is closed due to hot water/heating failure. The school hopes to be open on Monday.”
