Heritage walk success to help church’s repair funding bid

An informative and enjoyable walk which traced the links of the heritage of a church will help strengthen a bid for Heritage Lottery funding.
Around 12 people enjoyed the walk last Friday, starting at Ness Point and finishing at St Margaret’s Church in Lowestoft.
The guides, Jennifer Tucker, Arthur Sparkes and Bob Collis stopped at points along the route to bring the history of the area to life.
Stories were told about three extraordinary women in the 19th and 20th centurty, the 1943 air raid on the north of the town, and memorials being uncovered in the church and the church yard.
The walk aimed to raise evidence to help strengthen the Church’s Heritage Lottery bid for funds to make essential repairs to the grade one listed building.
Information was also shared whilst enjoying a picnic in the churchyard, with anyone else with a story to tell to contact the church at www.stmargaretslowestoft.co.uk or email email@example.com with the title ‘Heritage’.
