An eclectic mix of dancers, musicians and bakers dazzled as a Waveney school staged a festival-style celebration showcasing the creative talents of its pupils.
Pakefield High School, on London Road, Lowestoft, held their inaugural Creatifest on Thursday, July 13,
A hugely popular 'bake-off' style competition - in which bakers decorated their cakes in front of a live audience took place. The evening also saw dancers, drama students and musicians take to the stage and perform in front of parents and local residents.
The school hall was transformed into an exhibition area, displaying pupils artwork and music videos.
Ben Scarce, event organiser and head of music, said: 'It is always a pleasure to watch the hard work and commitment of our pupils come to fruition. CreatiFest has been a fantastic opportunity to celebrate creativity both in and outside of the classroom.'
He added: 'It was lovely to be able to engage and celebrate our pupils' creative achievements with parents and members of the wider Pakefield community.'
There were stalls offering face-painting, caricatures, and a fancy dress photo-booth. A raffle, supported by local businesses, raised money for next year's celebrations.
Rachel Dawson, head of media studies, said: 'The event was hugely popular and it was amazing to see so many people celebrating the creative talent of the pupils at Pakefield.
'This night has really raised the profile of the creative arts and its success was down to the hard work of our pupils. We are very proud of them'
The evening ended with an awards ceremony - including People's Choice awards for the bake-off, media work and art work.
Hundreds of votes were cast with Lauren Wilson winning the bake-off with her beautiful 'Pigs in Mud' cake. Katalin Cook won the art award while Samantha Smith and Millie Smith took home the award for best music video.
Elliot Gibbons, head of the Creative and PE learning team, said: 'Creatifest created a platform to celebrate the outstanding work and dedication of pupils in the creativity and art subjects.
'The school has shown commitment to these subjects and will build upon these successes.'
