FURTHER evidence of a comeback by the British seaside holiday is being reported by Haven's four holiday parks in the local area.

Bookings at the parks - Caister, Seashore, Wild Duck and Hopton Holiday Village - are reported to be 15pc up on last year.

Stuart Hanks, manager of the Wild Duck at Belton, said: “Arrivals have been very good this year. People aren't travelling so far and have been talking about the effects of the weak pound against the euro.”

Kirsty Burn, marketing managing at Yarmouth tourism department, said hotels and guesthouses were also buoyant with the resort's online booking system, new for this year, proving popular.

She said: “Yarmouth's new focused event programme is attracting large numbers of people to the resort for day trips and for weekend breaks. Last weekend's Band Factor event with three music venues al fresco along the seafront proved a very popular draw.”
