CAN somebody please tell me why we have cameras in the town centre area because it doesn't seem like they are working?

About three weeks ago, while I was parked outside Poundstretcher, a lorry hit my car.

I was standing nearby and saw this and shouted out to the driver who then drove off down the main pedestrian precinct which I thought was an offence.

On contacting police I have been told that the cameras positioned on the corners of Gordon Road, Regent Road and the Marina didn't pick the incident up.

I am just thankful that nobody was knocked over while the lorry drove down there in such a hurry but I cannot accept that a lorry can drive down the precinct like that and get away with it.

I am now left with a hefty repair bill for the damage to my car and because the lorry cannot be traced I have to pay for this myself.
