An inquest into the death of a popular footballer and much-loved father-of-two has been opened and adjourned.
Darren Boyd, 43, from Lowestoft, was killed after being hit by a train in Oulton Broad just before 6pm on Saturday, January 2.
The inquest opening at Lowestoft Coroner's Court on Tuesday heard that the cause of death was given as 'multiple injuries' resulting from the 'collision with a train.'
A porter at Morrisons in Pakefield, Mr Boyd was described by his wife Sharon as being 'loved so deeply by so many people.'
Assistant coroner for Suffolk, Nigel Parsley, said: 'I will open the inquest of the tragic death of Darren Boyd and adjourn it to April 26, 2016 to allow further inquiries to take place.'
