An inquest into the death of a Lowestoft man who died following a suspected hit and run crash has been opened and adjourned.
Brian Mitchell, 86, who suffered from Alzheimer's Disease, was taken to the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston on November 15, 2017 after sustaining injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle that had failed to stop.
He died in hospital on December 23.
Senior coroner Jacqueline Lake opened the inquest at Norfolk Coroner's Court on Tuesday, May 1.
She said evidence had been provided by doctors which showed Mr Mitchell died due to a bleed on the brain with rebleeding, as well as additional contributing factors including bronchopneumonia.
