YOUNGSTERS from the Lowestoft area are being urged to take advantage of special summer drop-in sessions when the 4 Towns community bus arrives later this month.

The community bus, which was launched in Beccles, Bungay, Southwold and Halesworth in June 2006, will be visiting Lowestoft on Tuesday nights from July 28 until September 8.

The sessions give young people aged between 10 and 15 the opportunity to access all the bus has to offer including a 'chill-out' area, a large flat-screen TV, internet access and a range of other activities.

The visits have been arranged by Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Ailsa McNamara from the Lowestoft Central Safer Neighbour-hood Team working in partnership with Roy Emmerson from Extended Schools Pathfinder Funding.

Between them they have managed to secure cash for the 'Summer Holiday Youth Club Drop-in' project which will see the bus sited at the seafront Claremont car park between 7pm and 9pm on each Tuesday over the summer holiday period.

The former London double-decker bus was completely refitted after it was bought by the team behind the project in 2005 and is now used by a wide range of community groups.
