The Foundation Trust's governors' council meeting, which is open to the public, will also include an update on the performance and future plans.

Ann Filby, Foundation Trust Secretary, said: 'Our governors hold the trust's board to account and these meetings are a platform for them to be open and accountable to all interested parties - including the public - and provide an update on current issues and future plans.'

Other items on the agenda include an assessment of performance against the trust's objectives for 2010/11 and a review of the 2009 Inpatient Survey where the trust was rated among the top 20pc in the country in many areas.

The meeting will take place next Thursday, July 15, in the Sandford Suite at the Burrage Centre at the hospital from 4.30-7.15pm.

More information - including a full agenda - will be available from Monday at www.jpaget.nhs.uk , and the following governors' council meeting will be held on October 15 at 9am.
