A high street branch of Swinton Insurance has closed its doors.
Six people have been made redundant after Swinton's Lowestoft branch closed on Tuesday, February 26.
The branch in Bevan Street East, Lowestoft shut this week as Swinton said that they were 'reshaping' the branch network as the changes were part of a 'long-term plan' to transform the company into 'the UK's number one digital insurance broker'.
A spokesman for Swinton said: 'I can confirm that Swinton's Lowestoft branch closed yesterday (Tuesday) unfortunately resulting in six people being made redundant.
'More than 80 per cent of insurance customers choose to purchase their policies online and as a result we are further reshaping our branch network to reflect the way customers now prefer to interact with us.
'These changes are part of our long-term plan to transform Swinton into the UK's number one digital insurance broker.'
A notice left on the office's front door said: 'This branch is now closed. To speak to us call 0800 072 6989 or visit www.swinton.co.uk
