A post mortem examination on a man who died after being found on a bench in Lowestoft town centre has proved inconclusive into how he died.
John Riley, 51, died at the James Paget University Hospital on Saturday, September 22, after being found outside McDonald’s in London Road North the previous day.
A Home Office post mortem examination was carried out on Wednesday but proved inconclusive with further tests needed.
A police spokesman said: “An investigation is being carried out and the death is still being treated as unexplained, but is not believed to be suspicious.”
Flowers and messages now adorn the bench on which Mr Riley was found with family and friends gathering from around the town to pay their respects.
Anybody who has any information which could assist the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr Riley’s death is asked to call Suffolk police on 101 quoting incident number 36/59140/18.
