A GROUP of plumbing students who had previously thought they would be unable to study locally are now set to start a course in November at Lowestoft College.

Phillip Belden, Vice Principal at Lowestoft College, said: “We have been able to look into the previous issues we had with resources and facilities and are pleased that we are now able to offer the group the chance to study at Lowestoft College. The college has made the decision to appoint a new full-time lecturer in plumbing to meet the demand and, in the meantime, the current team is pulling together.

“We had previously sourced facilities for the students in Norwich but by taking on additional staff and making sure the workshop facilities are used as effectively as possible, we are now able to give the group the chance to study plumbing locally.

“We met the group today to share the good news. They all seemed pleased with the outcome and are looking forward to beginning the course.”
