A road has been closed to traffic for up to 16 weeks due to major development works.
Kensington Road in Pakefield, near Lowestoft, is now closed in its entirety to allow developer Morgan Sindall to carry out work on behalf of Cefas - the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science.
The ongoing project will eventually result in the construction of a new marine science headquarters for Cefas, which has been based in Lowestoft since 1902 and employs around 600 staff across the country.
The road closure will allow safe access and working space for scaffolding and mobile cranes, as well as an area for material to be delivered and unloaded.
For the duration of the current round of works - scheduled for completion by June 23, 2019 - motorists will not be able to turn down Kensington Road off Kirkley Cliff Road.
No diversion is required due to the road leading to a dead-end.
