GREEN fingered pupils at Kessingland Primary School have been presented with gardening equipment towards a number of hands-on projects helping them to appreciate the world of science.
GREEN fingered pupils at Kessingland Primary School have been presented with gardening equipment towards a number of hands-on projects helping them to appreciate the world of science.
The equipment, given to the school by Waveney MP Bob Blizzard, was provided by the Let's Grow scheme, run by Morrisons supermarkets, in partnership with the government's Growing Schools programme.
Children and parents have been collecting vouchers from the supermarket in Tower Road, on the South Lowestoft Industrial Estate, which have been exchanged for equipment, compost and seeds.
Pat Hogan, headteacher at the school in Field Lane, said: 'We are over the moon to get so much gardening equipment and the children can't wait to get stuck in and put it to good use. This type of hands-on learning is really important for children's development and it's good fun too.'
Let's Grow has been a runaway success, with more than �39m vouchers redeemed across the country.
