Residents in Kessingland are being invited along to a ‘Big Lunch’ as part of a national initiative to build stronger communities.

On Tuesday, June 26, a Big Lunch event will be held at Marram Green from 12pm onwards.

Organised by the East Suffolk Communities Team, Access Community Trust, BACT, and Kessingland Parish Council, a spokesman said the event gives local people the chance to have lunch, meet new friends, and help build a strong local community.

Lunch will be provided by Sam’s Cafe, with games and activites from Kessingland Library and songs from Kessingland Primary School choir.

Mary Rudd, Waveney District Council’s cabinet member for community health and safety said: “The Big Lunch is open to all and would especially benefit those who are feeling isolate or lonely as the event provides an excellent opportunity to get to know your neighbours and create new friendships.”

The event costs £6.50 per person which includes lunch, tea or coffee and the activities, with booking required by calling 01502 527200.
