I WOULD like to thank the staff at Marks & Spencers and especially Elle who helped my 80-year-old mother in the store after she had her handbag taken from the wheelchair of her disabled friend that she was pushing round.

I WOULD like to thank the staff at Marks & Spencers and especially Elle who helped my 80-year-old mother in the store after she had her handbag taken from the wheelchair of her disabled friend that she was pushing round.

My mother was very upset and the kindness shown is greatly appreciated by our family. Thank you also to Sarah, the community police officer, who attended and helped us.

The police get a lot of criticism today, however, they sorted things out for us, rang my mother later in day to make sure she was okay and reassured her, which was important as her confidence has been massively knocked and she feels she does not want to go on her weekly shopping trip in Lowestoft with her friend anymore.

To the woman who took my mother's bag and her pension money and keys, etc, I hope you reflect on your actions and realise to steal off a pensioner from a wheelchair is about as low as you can get and I hope your life improves in the future as at the moment you are at a place where most of us would not wish to be.
