I WOULD urge those who are interested in restoring Kirkley Fen to leave it alone and let nature take its course. There are too many groups who wish to tidy up the parks and woodlands in Lowestoft and many do not really know or understand what they are doing.

Kirkley Fen has many rare plants, mammals and amphibians that are protected from disturbance by law and as I have been studying the area for many years there is nothing that needs doing to it at all.

If the fen is of interest to residents may I suggest that they regularly visit the site and record the wildlife there. This is much more important than "gardening" and much more ecologically important.

I would discourage anyone who wishes to interfere with the trees and bushes and wildlife there.
