POLICE and the Highways department are currently dealing with a 'really big tree,' which has been blown down in the wet and windy north Suffoolk conditions.

As treacherous weather lashed the east coast, officers were called to Flixton Road in Blundeston - between Flixton and the turn off for Blundeston Prison - at 7.15am this morning (Thursday) following reports that a large tree had fallen down and was blocking the road.

Fortunately no-one was hurt in the incident, but the road was blocked to traffic in both directions.

'Police officers are currently in attendance at the scene providing traffic control and the Highways team are dealing with the large fallen tree,' a police spokesman said.
