When did you first start playing the guitar?

At the age of 13. It was all Nirvana and Oasis covers back then.

What made you want to be a solo artist?

It was just by chance really. During my time of playing in various bands I was asked to provide some background music on acoustic guitar in venues that were too small for a band. It's all grown from there.

Do you play with a backing band?

Yes, although I call it a solo project. I love having the support of James Burrows on upright bass and Ulrich Decruz on percussion. It really fills out the sound and makes it much more fun.

When was your first solo gig?

It was about four years ago sitting in the corner of the Red Herring, Oulton Broad, just strumming my acoustic guitar, without any amplification. I'm not sure if anyone really heard a thing I was doing!

Who is your biggest influence?

The Beatles

What's your favourite song to perform?

Right now it's A Town Called Malice by The Jam

What is your dream venue to play and why?

I'd actually like to play the Latitude festival, it's got such a great atmosphere.

If you could support any act in the world, who would it be and why?

Paul Weller, because he's a brilliant songwriter and he's got a silly haircut like me!

Your music summed up in three words:

Chilled, upbeat, eclectic
