Letter of the week
INSPIRATIONAL, emotional, humbling ... just three words to describe my feelings at the 2009 Race for Life in Norwich on Sunday. With so much gloom and doom economically and personally in this country it was a truly uplifting experience to see so many people of all ages united on what was a very blustery day, dressed up and depicting a very British spirit for those loved ones who have been affected by such a cruel disease.

As first timers myself and two friends entered with some trepidation. Needless to say it was totally unfounded and once we crossed the start line we were caught up in the raw emotions and comradeship of all the other competitors.
Linking arms and smiling with heavy hearts we crossed the finish line with a sense of satisfaction that in some small way we had helped this worthwhile cause for a better future … and we can't wait to do it all over again next year. Well done to everybody who took part.
