Litter problems in Lowestoft

IT seems BBC Radio Suffolk's "Don't be a tosser" campaign has not reached Lowestoft yet. The amount of litter and general rubbish left lying around is disgusting.

IT seems BBC Radio Suffolk's "Don't be a tosser" campaign has not reached Lowestoft yet. The amount of litter and general rubbish left lying around is disgusting.

I had occasion to write once before after I found discarded supermarket trolleys in the Linear Park nature site.

Now this week I have found household and industrial waste goods on otherwise pleasant paths and tracks by Lake Lothing near the end of Harbour Road.

What is it with these people who have no respect for their environment and just expect someone else to eventually clear it up?

I must congratulate the local council on their speedy responses when I have reported similar incidents in my own neighbourhood but they cannot be everywhere all the time.

Perhaps a campaign could be started to feature readers photos of problem areas and perhaps shame those responsible?
