Those wanting to walk were dropped off at a point and given details which took them along the Broad at Rockland St Mary and back to the New Inn where they were entertained by Morris dancers. The garden party on July 4 was a success. About 40 people attended and the weather was kind. Thanks were conveyed to Marcella Bird for the use of her garden. Details of a combined trip with the car club, boat club and wine club were given which is a trip on a boat up the Broads with a jazz band, on September 4.

Norfolk Wine Guild is having its annual show, on September 12, at Hethersett Village Hall and members have been invited to take part in the competition. This year's proposed Christmas trip is to Brussells. Maurice Hall gave a talk about his homemade wines and how he collects hundreds of pounds of blackberries each year. Competition results for red wine made from fresh ingredients or kit: dry, 1 Bob White, 2 Margaret Bathgate, 3 Len Allen; sweet, 1 Beryl Rooke, 2 Len Allen, 3 Gina Wiles.
