Tuesday evening was taken up with a display of Hong Kong airmails given by John Marriner from the Great Yarmouth Stamp Club, which began with the reign of George V, when aircraft were somewhat primitive, coming up to date via the Comet, 707, 747 Jumbo, and many more.

In the service's early days the pilots were like pioneers. It seemed all major airlines passed through Hong Kong at some time to all parts of the world, and this while the world was in conflict or in a world war. John's knowledge of his subject proved to make the evening even more entertaining, and as a regular visitor to the club, his displays are always ones members always look forward to.
