Tuesday's meeting at St Mark's Church Hall was entitled 'What Do You Collect? Bring Anything'. And members did just that, with the evening turning out to be one of the highlights of the club's calendar. Ten members brought mini-collections including postal history from Portugal and Germany, a fine collection of Quinton postcards, material from the 1990 Stamp World London exhibition, and postal strike items. There was much to enjoy including a fine collection of photographs of bomb-damaged streets of Lowestoft during the Second World War, along with ration books from the same period. Sitting alongside all this was a gas mask - or as Capt Mainwaring would say, 'a Respirator' - and the whole evening left members with pangs of nostalgia.

The nest meeting will be on Tuesday 2 June at St Mark's Church Hall, Bridge Road, Oulton Broad, at 7.30 pm. Contact 01502 714890 for more details.
