Last Tuesday's meeting at St Mark's Church Hall was taken up with a display given by John Blowers. The subject being old postcards, it proved to be a very interesting evening with a selection of historical pictures of Lowestoft from 1905 onwards, covering the old seawall, the swing bridge, trams, street scenes, beaches, parks and much more.

The subject being old postcards, it proved to be a very interesting evening with a selection of historical pictures of Lowestoft from 1905 onwards, covering the old seawall, the swing bridge, trams, street scenes, beaches, parks and much more. It was a trip down memory lane, some of the members were able to add further facts from their childhood, along with information passed on by their parents, some of whom well remembered sitting on the beach at Children's Corner in the 1940s surrounded by barbed wire, looking up to the barrage balloons along the sea front.
