On Monday, May 11 the club annual meeting was held at Bloodmoor Hill Community Centre. The retiring chairman, Bridget Shreeve, reported another very enjoyable year's bridge and thanked the members and committee for their support during her time in office.

On Monday, May 11 the club annual meeting was held at Bloodmoor Hill Community Centre. The retiring chairman, Bridget Shreeve, reported another very enjoyable year's bridge and thanked the members and committee for their support during her time in office. In particular she thanked Jan Jay for all her hard work over many years as secretary. The chair was then taken by Janice Cluer who thanked the members for electing her and then presented trophies to the winners of last season's competitions. A full session of bridge followed the meeting, with Miss S Bultitude and Mr R Shreeve emerging as the winners with a score of 63.9 percent. Second were Mrs J Cluer and Mr L Claydon with 57.7, third were Mrs D Rose and Mrs G Phillippo and fourth Mrs J Battershill and Mr L Howard. On Thursday at St Mark's the group took part in the EBU spring simultaneous pairs competition. The winners were Mr R and Miss B Shreeve with a score of 66.4 percent. Mrs M Wilderspin and Mrs K Cooper were second with 58.7. Third were Mr and Mrs A Hillier and fourth Mr and Mrs P Howlett. Bridget and Robert Shreeve are currently lying in seventh position nationally in a field of 1,740 pairs.
