On Monday, July 13 at Kirkley High School the pairs competition was won by Mr and Mrs P Howlett with an excellent score of 70.4 percent. In second place were Mr R Abbott and Miss B Shreeve with 56.

Third were Mr and Mrs Hillier and fourth Mr and Mrs T Yapp. On Thursday at St Mark's the winners were Miss D Bennett and Mrs P Bracewell with 65.4 percent. Second were Mr P Whittley and Mr D Thompson with 60.8, followed closely by Mr R and Miss B Shreeve with 60.4. Fourth were Mrs J Howitt and Mr B Learner.
