On Thursday April 2 it was the turn of the clubs video and film workshop to present an evening of their later productions, after a reminder of the forthcoming annual meeting, and chairman Harold Whitewood handed over to Roger Bellham the projectionist for the evening, to present his weekly newsreel.

On Thursday April 2 it was the turn of the clubs video and film workshop to present an evening of their later productions, after a reminder of the forthcoming annual meeting, and chairman Harold Whitewood handed over to Roger Bellham the projectionist for the evening, to present his weekly newsreel. Then it was the turn of member Peter Keeble to present what was to be a most entertaining evening indeed it started with Busy Bee a film Jim Buckenham and then an audio production The Excavation with members of the workshop acting the various parts scripted again by Jim Buckenham. Then Fantasy of Light taken in Las Vegas by Dave Banham and Earthrace a short film made while this round the world power boat was resident in Lowestoft harbour by Allen Pettitt followed by Beware of Heights a short story film acted by group members and a trip round the infamous prison Alcatraz by member Derek Johnson. Looking After Edna and the Roaring Middle were then shown, two short story films followed, by Sam an animated cartoon of Sam Pick up Thy Muskett fame.Two audio short plays Naval Patrol and The Raid based on world war two, experiences acted by members, then it was time for the raffle and tea break a pick and mix buffet supplied by members and served by Marion Whitewood with the raffle being run by Gorden Mitchell and David and Frances Bucknole. The evening ended with a film made for the Lowestoft players pantomime some three years ago involving a car chase through Lowestoft. Neil Achew workshop leader could not attend because of his working hours. Next week films with a Lowestoft theme for the Ken Renshaw Family Cup competition will be shown.
