This week members assembled at the Beaconsfield Club for the annual dinner and presentation of the filmmaker and film of the year awards. Thirty-five members and guest attended and after a very enjoyable meal was served it was time to present the Richard Allen memorial trophy to Alan Ruff for gaining most points in the official competitions.

This week members assembled at the Beaconsfield Club for the annual dinner and presentation of the filmmaker and film of the year awards. Thirty-five members and guest attended and after a very enjoyable meal was served it was time to present the Richard Allen memorial trophy to Alan Ruff for gaining most points in the official competitions. The Persimmons trophy went to Jeff Riches for his film The Crofton Sector winner of film of the year, presented by the president's wife Mildred Mobbs who was then presented with a pot plant on behalf of the club by honorary secretary Marion Whitewood. A short speech by vice-chair Roger Belham, then one by president Austin Mobbs concluded what was a very relaxed evening. Club chairman Harold Whitewood then closed the proceedings and wished all members a very good film making summer recess, with the club video workshop meeting all through the season starting on Thursday, September 17.
