The guest speaker for the evening, was Clive Dunn (not the of Dads Amy fame) but a freelance film producer, who has worked in television for many years, both ITV and the BBC Clive started as a projectionist, in St Ives Cornwall than worked at Ealing studio as an assistant editor, had to have a union ticket. One of the highlights for him, was working on Channel Four, Boys in Black Stuff. After working with film, things changed to tape which was a nightmare to edit and nearly put paid to his, and many others, but was saved when digital came on the scene. Clive then broke away from TV to work as a freelance and work on his own productions including the effects of the beaching cuts in Norfolk with coast presenter Nicholas Crane made for Inside Out series on TV as was a film about Alfred Eistein. Clive has been connected with wildlife films and will visit again on November 19, to show some of these. A vote of thanks was given by president, Mr Austin Mobbs.
The club workshop meets on Tuesday evenings, 7.30pm start.
Next week members of the Lowestoft Archaeology and Local History Society will be joining the club for a local history film show.
