Volunteers are being encouraged to do their bit by taking part in a community clean-up.

A 'Town Centre Spring Clean' will take place in Lowestoft from 8.45am tomorrow (Thursday, April 18) morning, with local people asked to meet at the London Road North entrance to the Britten Centre.

Organised by the East Suffolk Communities Team in partnership with Lowestoft Rising, Lowestoft Town Council, East Suffolk Norse, Community Action Suffolk and Lowestoft Vision, participants will undertake a litter pick across the area.

They will be supported by business representatives, community groups and Norse staff, who will also be tackling chewing gum and graffiti where possible as part of street cleansing work.

In addition, benches in the town centre will be repainted and planters refreshed.

If you can spare some time to help, please call Rachel Tucker on 01502 523111 or email via rachel.tucker@eastsuffolk.gov.uk. Litter picking equipment will be provided.
