The branch meeting took place on Tuesday, June 2 at the RAOB Club. There were 24 members present and three guests. Among the items discussed were the Poppy Appeal, including a request for more volunteers to help with the events.
The branch meeting took place on Tuesday, June 2 at the RAOB Club. There were 24 members present and three guests. Among the items discussed were the Poppy Appeal, including a request for more volunteers to help with the events. Letters are being prepared for branch members to deliver in their area which will hopefully bring forward members of the public to help. Armed Forces Day is approaching and the branch is preparing for the youth organisations in Lowestoft to become affiliated to the branch, with certificates being presented on June 27. There are many events being planned, among them being an Armed Forces Day, 40s night dance at the Beaconsfield Club at 7.30pm. Tickets at £9 can be bought at the club or call 01502 573345. A letter has been received from Waveney MP Bob Blizzard as an invitation to the Yacht Club on June 25, to meet Kevin Jones MP who is Under Secretary of State for Defence and Minister for Veterans; there could be about 10 members interested in going. With the forthcoming events such as the trip to the National Memorial Arboretum on July 18, 19 there are still al couple of seats left at £69 all inclusive. Call 01502 517473 for further details. On July 19 there will be a Battle of Mirbast memorial dedication. A river trip on the Broads in September is also being organised and the air show in August.
