Lowestoft drugs blitz: new bail dates

A NUMBER of people arrested on suspicion of drugs offences in Lowestoft have had their bail periods extended. Ten people were arrested during the initial week-long police operation last November as 80 offences were recorded as part of the Suffolk-wide blitz.

Ten people were arrested during the initial week-long police operation last November as 80 offences were recorded as part of the Suffolk-wide blitz.

And while some of the offenders have already been dealt with, others answered bail in the past week.

A 49-year-old man arrested after police raided an address in Jasmine Green and found a bag of what is believed to be herbal cannabis after searching a vehicle has been bailed to return to Lowestoft police station on February 24.

In a separate raid, officers executed a warrant at an address in Henham Road and a 26-year-old man and a 52-year-old man were arrested after a quantity of cannabis leaf was discovered at the property and in a vehicle.

They have both been bailed to return to Lowestoft police station on February 10.

A 33-year-old woman was arrested after police raided an address in Homefield Avenue and recovered substances believed to be heroin and crack cocaine. The woman has been bailed to return to Lowestoft police station on January 30.

A Lowestoft woman was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine with intent to supply after a drug search by police. The 36-year-old was found with what is believed to be crack cocaine while driving along the A146.

And after answering bail last week, she has been bailed to return to Lowestoft police station on January 28.
