A TERMINALLY ill Lowestoft man was kicked to death in an alleyway by a 23-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, it has been alleged.

Father-of-three John Vry, 55, of London Road South, Lowestoft was found with serious injuries in an alleyway off the same road on December 3 last year and died in hospital the following day, a court has heard.

Karim Khalil QC prosecuting said Mr Vry was suffering from cancer and had been given a life expectancy of three to six months in the summer of last year.

'By December last year he was plainly not a strong man,' said Mr Khalil.

He alleged that Mr Vry, who was married with three children, was 'literally kicked to death' by James Killingback, 23, of Denmark Road, Lowestoft and a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Killingback and the 17-year-old boy have denied murdering Mr Vry on December 4 last year.

The trial, which is expected to last four to five weeks, continues.
