The July meeting commenced with chairman Sandra Rees welcoming members and visitors and thanking Pauline Shipley for the flower arrangement in the foyer. After thanking all the members who arranged flowers at the St Margaret's 700 year festival, she announced forthcoming events by neighbouring clubs before introducing the demonstrator for the evening Lynn Barrow from Potter Heigham. Lynn is a new trainee demonstrator who entitled her demonstration Something for Nothing. Using a selection of containers and accessories, all of which had cost nothing or very little, and a selection of flowers and garden foliage she proceeded to entertain the audience with interesting stories regarding the items she was using and where and how she acquired them. Commencing with a sphere shaped basket which she decorated with green flowers and foliage which she bought in an auction as part of a job lot, she used several and different and unusual articles before ending her demonstration with an almost full sized decorative bicycle which decorated with lilies, chrysanthemum blooms roses and other white flowers. She was thanked by Margaret Crisp.
The next meeting of the club will be on Tuesday, September 15, at St Margaret's Church Centre, Hollingsworth Road, when Barbara Harrold from Norwich will be demonstrating 'My Way'.
