AN aspiring professional model from Lowestoft is hoping her appearance in Living TV's latest series of Britain's Next Top Model will lead to her realising her dream of stardom.

Emily Holmes, of Pebble Close, made it through to the final 20 of the national competition, but on Monday viewers saw her eliminated from the show, which offers one lucky wannabe catwalk starlet a contract with leading agent Models 1 and a cover and spread with glossy monthly magazine Company.

Emily, a former Journal Carnival Queen attendant, claimed her place in the fifth series of the TV competition by successfully navigating her way through two London auditions and a phone interview.

"There was so much waiting as I got closer and closer to reaching the last 20. I applied last year for the show, but I'm determined and through working with Sandra Reynolds' modelling agency I've managed to build-up my confidence," said the 20-year-old.

On Monday, viewers saw Emily and 19 other contestants take part in a boot camp as the aspiring models battled it out to make the final 13.

"It was crazy when we met for the first time, with 20 girls all with big personalities," said Emily.

'The boot camp included an assault course that was cold, muddy and wet, but I loved it. I really enjoyed every second of the show and it was a really good experience.'

The former Benjamin Britten High School student has always dreamt of a career in modelling and although she was one of the seven to be eliminated, she is hoping that the appearance will help her make her breakthrough.

'I definitely want to stay in the modelling business and will have to see what happens after the show,' she said.
