A thoughtful nine-year-old girl is set to donate her hair to children whose lives have been transformed by illness.

Shelby-Brooke Moore, who lives in Lowestoft, decided it would be a waste to simply see her hair binned after a haircut. Having heard about the Little Princess Trust, she told her mother Sally-Anne Goldsmith that she would prefer to donate it to children less fortunate than herself.

The charity provides free real hair wigs to girls and boys affected by hair loss as a result of illness, and Shelby has been raising as much money as possible prior to having 12 inches of hair cut on February 15.

Miss Goldsmith said: 'About a year ago, Shelby said 'I want to give my hair to people who are in a worse situation than me', which made me incredibly proud.

'We've lost several family members to cancer and Shelby has always been one to try and help others.'

So far, Shelby has raised £230 of her £350 target. Visit her Just Giving page to donate.
