The 2019 Lowestoft in Bloom competition has been officially launched, revealing this year's theme.

Organisers have urged the people of Lowestoft to adorn the town with an array of vibrant colours as they take part in the showcase.

This year’s theme is Fire and Rescue.

As well as the popular competition, the charity is also carrying out work at the Hollies Nurseries in Blundeston, to bring gardening to the wider community, and at Lowestoft Railway Station, where they have acquired two boats to plant up.

This year’s competition is now officially open and anyone who wishes to enter can collect an entry form from Lowestoft Library, the Journal Office, or by emailing martinjones@hotmail.com or davidbanks1234@gmail.com.

The competition is open to schools, preschools, nurseries, hotels, public houses, care homes, private homes, allotments and community gardens.

This year’s Lowestoft in Bloom AGM will take place on Monday, May 13 at the Waveney Norse Depot in Rotterdam Road at 6pm.
