TALENTED Lowestoft youngster Reece Cook is on the road to stardom after reaching the final four of a prestigious national talent competition.

And today he will be aiming for the backing of supporters as he competes in the last stages of the Disney Channel's new talent programme My Camp Rock.

While he may be the contest's youngest finalist, the 11-year-old Gisleham Middle School pupil has already proved to be up for the fight after beating more than 1,000 young hopefuls from across the country to reach the last four after impressing choreographer Gary Lloyd, celebrity vocal coach Zoe Tyler and award-winning R'n'B star Craig David.

The show, which launched earlier this month, is based on the smash-hit teen movie Camp Rock.

Over the past few weeks budding music stars from across the UK have sung for survival to win the chance to release their own version of a track from the film.

And with Reece progressing through the semi-final boot camp last Friday, the former Sunrise Talent competitor and Cantor's Theatre School pupil is today going head-to-head in a final jam on the Disney Channel. Fans will be able to vote at www.disneychannel.co.uk ahead of the winner being announced tomorrow.

A delighted Reece said: “I've had the best time on My Camp Rock. I love to sing and perform and the Jonas Brothers are my idols.

“Hopefully now I'll have the chance to get a little closer to my dream career of performing, which I've wanted to do for as long as I can remember.”

On Monday Reece signed autographs at the Disney Store, in Norwich.

Kenny Cantor, from Cantor's Theatre School, said: “Reece is a good student and is very centralised in what he is doing.

“His concentration is good, he picks up lyrics and movement well, and it must be obvious that Reece loves what he is doing as he does it all with great enthusiasm.”

Watch Reece perform in the final of My Camp Rock on the Disney Channel at 5.35pm today.
