At their recent meeting in St Mark's Church Centre members were entertained by local singing duo Myrtle and Len, making a welcome return visit to the club. Their programme comprised country and western numbers and popular ballads from the 1930s to the 1970s, ensuring the audience were soon tapping their feet and joining in the well-known songs. Myrtle and Len were warmly thanked by Gwen Sagon. Members were reminded to note the date of the summer coffee morning to be held on Tuesday, June 9 at the home of John and Jean Robinson. Donations of raffle prizes for the event will be welcomed. Prizewinners were Ruby Moss and Janice Cluer and birthday lady Kathy Moxom was congratulated. The next club meeting is scheduled for May 5, when John Smith will give a talk entitled In Times of War.
