Chairman Clare Cakebread welcomed members to their regular meeting at St Mark's Church Centre. Owing to illness the planned speaker was unable to attend but in his place the secretary was fortunate to engage local naturalist Tony Brown who had delighted his audience on a previous occasion with a talk from his selection of topics. This time his subject was the Isles of Scilly and his informative and entertaining commentary was enhanced by the truly remarkable photographs of the islands' flora and fauna that served to underline his professional skill. Christine Shoobridge endorsed his audience's appreciation in giving her vote of thanks. Raffle winners were Anne Jones and May Bailey. The next meeting of the club will be held on May 19 when Len Butcher will give a talk on Pakefield Coastwatch.
