LOWESTOFT Lifeboat has just been launched this afternoon (Friday) to aid a broken down motor vessel.
The lifeboat was called out at noon following reports that the vessel had broken down 16m south east of Lowestoft harbour, and was drifting before dropping anchor.
After the vessel requested help, with a force nine south westerly gale expected to hit later today, Lowestoft Lifeboat is likely to reach the vessel at about 1.15pm and it's expected to take the vessel in tow.
With the weather warnings ahead, the lifeboat was quickly deployed as it will be at sea for most of the afternoon.
