A Lowestoft man has been charged following reports of more than 100 hoax and malicious calls.

Joshua Harris of Beccles Road, was arrested on Wednesday, July 11, following reports that more than 100 hoax and malicious calls were made between October 2017 and July 2018 to the contact and control room at Suffolk Constabulary's headquarters.

The 30-year-old was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre and has subsequently been charged with persistently making use of a public communication network to cause annoyance/inconvenience/anxiety.

He was also charged with two counts of possession of cannabis.

Harris has been released on bail to appear before Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court at 9.30am on August 1.
