A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to 20 weeks in prison after assaulting two police officers in Great Yarmouth.
Ryan Webb of Beresford Road, Lowestoft, was sentenced at Norwich Magistrates' Court today, June 18, after admitting spitting at two police officers.
The offences happened when officers responded to an incident in Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth, at around 12.30am yesterday, June 17.
PC Peter Harvey at Great Yarmouth Police said: 'Our frontline staff face difficult, challenging, and often volatile and violent situations in the course of their duties.
'This behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Today's sentence should act as a deterrent to anyone who thinks otherwise.'
